Geocaching in Neath Port Talbot

Swansea Canal

Geocaching (pronounced Geo-cashing) is a modern day treasure hunt, anyone with a GPS device can play. The idea of the game is for the geocacher (hider) to place a geocache or cache as they a commonly known (treasure) anywhere in the world, the ‘geocacher’ then pinpoints its location using the GPS system and uploads the co-ordinates on the geocaching website.

You (the seeker) can search the site for cache co-ordinates at any location you want, you then type the co-ordinates into the GPS device, and your all set. The usual contents for a cache would be a log book, for you to write in and a number of treasures, remember if you take something out you must put something back.

Found the cache? Log in to the geocaching website and share your experience and photos.
